Free Images

This is a list of some places to get free images. Always be sure to check the copyright to make sure you can use the image. See if there are restrictions on the use. Some sites only allow their images to be used for noncommercial use. Other sites ask for a credit to be given. Be safe. Check before using any image.

1. Take your own photos.

2. Scan photos that you already own.

3. Find free images. Newsvine list

5. Find open content or Creative Commons images that you can use. Wki Public Domain Image's

All items created before 1923 are in the public domain. Items created after Jan. 1, 1978 usually are usually protected for Life + 70 years. In general, works created from 1923 to 1978 were protected for 28 years that could be extended for 67 years. Works created after 1963 had an automatic extension.

Remember to give a source credit to the photographer/source. Many of the free images REQUIRE that a source credit be given.
