| EU INTERNET TSN estimates that about 40% of EU households have the Internet at home and 23% have broadband access. The survey of almost 30,000 people was done in December 2005 to January 2006. Internet access was strongly associated with a larger household, urbanization. The Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark have the highest of Internet access. Most of the EU new member states have much lower rates of Internet access than the original EU members. The only exception is Slovenia that has a 45% rate of Internet access.
